Alltel internet through phone cost?

I have a RAZR V3c with Alltel, and I have bought motorola phone tools so i can sync my phone with my computer. One feature is the ability to use your phone as a modem. I was wondering what is the cost of this? I don't have a data plan, so is it my minutes or billing me per minute on the data plan i don't have? Thanks :)
