I've heard (and seen) RAZR's snapped in half too... but mostly from drops or people sitting on them. :p Basically, the PEBL is a RAZR in a new case. There are SOME new features (like voice-independent dialing), but mostly it's the same thing. So, I would base my decision on what feels better to you. For some people, the RAZR is too small and thin to hold comfortably in 1 hand, to text with 1 hand, and to open with 1 hand. The PEBL "solves" these issues by having a spring-loaded hinge for 1-handed opening, and a "thicker" body. But on the flip side (no pun intended), some people dislike the PEBL's rubbery texture, the thickness, and the monochrome screen on the outside (which I like personally). So I would see what style/look you like the most, and go with that one! If the PEBL was out when I got my phone, I WOULD have considered it, and MIGHT have got it (since I agree with many of the RAZR's comments), but oh well... :mobile: EDIT: This is assuming you're comparing the Motorola RAZR V3. If you're comparing another version of the RAZR, then the phone features and technology probably have been improved, but the general comments of the physical shape of the phone is still pretty accurate... |

I much prefer my PEBL to my RAZR. The PEBL feels more comfortable to me and I like the voice dialing on it. I also prefer the PEBLs' keypad to that of the RAZR.
As far as a PEBL being snapped in half, I'm not sure how that could occur unless you were really trying or smashed down on it with the phone in the open position, which would probably snap any phone in half. You're probably just as likely to snap a RAZR in half than a PEBL. I also don't think of the PEBLs' hinge as "gimicky," I rather like it. RAZRs are easier to modify, if that's your thing, because so many people have them that there is tons of information on changing the software, etc. There are also tons of accessories available for RAZRs. But if you want a good phone that not a lot of people have, then the PEBL might be for you. I love mine. |

I would enjoy trying one of these, the only reason I don't is that I like to put the phone in my pocket when I'm out on the weekends not on my belt. So it's a bit thick for that, yet it's that very thickness that makes is so nice to hold. Cheers... |
