Hi! Please I need some help. I am new to Germany, misplaced the phone I brought with me, and ended up buying the Siemens Gigaset S450. Trouble is I don't know what a Gigaset is, how it works. I was able to register to the base station, but now I want to make calls but have no idea. How do I buy credit for such a phone. I am absolutely lost here, and would really appreciate all the information you can give. Thanks!I also need to know do I need to register with a phone company to use it? Which kind of calls are possible with it, is it just local? And also how do I obtain the phone number so I can receive calls on it. Thanks!

Siemens is a great phone! I was disappointed that they are no longer making phones for the US.You registered your handsets to the base. Just plug them in and use them as normal.A Gigaset phone system has a base, which you plug into the phone jack and an electrical outlet, and several handsets that "feed" off of that base. The handsets get plugged into the electrical outlets.You don't need to buy any credits.
